Destination: Bali Part 3

Day 3
Date: 28 January 2009

So we paid USD70 for a private tour guide in an air conditioned vehicle. Luckily we got the Pajero!

We were first brought to a Batik factory. Nothing that I've never seen before since Malaysia does produce our own Batik.

Look at the old school Batik machine! I remember seeing one at Sarawak Cultural Village back when I went there when I was 12.

A policeman in action. Well directing traffic that is.

Plenty of temples along the way. It's temple left and right!

Another one!!!

We were then brought to one of the many wooden craft factory.

The details of the carving is so pretty! I remember taking up art class back in high school and it took me ages to carve a piece of wood. It's just not my thing.

Back on the road again!

A road towards....?

And this is? It was actually a painting gallery. We weren't allowed to take anymore pictures except for this one which I took secretly.

We are now at the Ubud Monkey Forest!

Monkeys...

Ugly lizard statue. Ew.

Next, is Goa Gajah. Or in English - Elephant Cave.

Scary looking cave entrance.

Surroundings of the cave area.

The mini paddy field. Not sure if this is for show only.

We were then brought to a restaurant with this view. Awesome!

Food weren't exactly delicious but it was alright. Pricey too.

On the road again! We were headed to a temple up on a hill.

It was drizzling and there were a bunch of locals trying to sell umbrellas at very high prices. Lucky for me, I was smart enough to pack extra towels from the hotel just incase!

Tanah Lot. Nice huh?

What a day!

Destination: Bali Part 2

Day 2
Date: 27 January 2009

So we went to a diving trip. We paid USD70 each, for pick up from hotel to diving site and back to hotel.

That's the diving office that we stopped by to pick up the diving gear before heading to the diving site. OMG, I used the word diving 3 times in a sentence. Doh!

It took us about 2 hours drive from the diving office to the diving site.

Lots of greneries on the way. Are we there yet?

Finally!

Nice view isn't it?

However, upon getting into the water with all my diving gears on, I chickened out. I couldn't breath!!!

So I decided to give up and just sit by the beach, enjoying the view.

I like that table/bench thingy.

It was a long wait to wait for all the other divers to come back so we could head back into town.

Haha!

We had dinner in town that night. We decided to walk from the hotel to that particular restaurant which was only 10 minutes of walk away.

Starbucks! Which was in the same building as Hard Rock Hotel.

There you go! The restaurant. It wasn't that expensive though. Around the same price as mall restaurants in Kuala Lumpur.

Destination: Bali Part 1

Day 1
Date: 26 January 2009

We flew with Air Asia but the air ticket costs us RM1.2k each, which was expensive, considering it was Chinese New Year and a last minute purchase.

I don't remember how long it took us to get to Bali but I think it's about 4 hours.

Ah, we landed finally. We stayed at Hard Rock Hotel Bali in Kuta. It included the return pick up to and from the airport.

Our driver picked us up right on time! Such a nice fellow.

It took us about 20 minutes to arrive the hotel.

Oh gosh, the blue pillow just had to follow me everywhere!

Ahh, the warm welcome by the HRH Bali staff. Love this picture to the max. Do you feel like you're really there?

We walked around Kuta for abit after checking in.

Some alley selling t-shirts and dresses.

This is the entrance of Kuta Beach. There are probably a few though.

I present to you - Kuta Beach. There were a few locals selling sunglasses and souviners.

Look! Ronald McDonald's surfing, only in Bali!

We went to this restaurant by the beach, recommended by the taxi driver.

Nice candle holder.

Nice view of the beach.

Lovely sunset.

Nice band playing.

Ahh, what a nice first day in Bali!
